Antifragile - Nassim Nicholas Taleb

This is (controversially) my favorite book of Taleb. It was the first piece I read from him and I really enjoyed it. If you don’t know Nassim Taleb: you will either hate him or love him, he is a very polarizing figure. Anyways, this book is about systems which gain from adversity, like biological systems for example. If you punch a window it will most certainly break because its fragile. If you punch a rock it will not change and you will potentially break your hand - it is robust. But are there also systems which change positively in the face of adversity? Of course there are. If you break down your muscles again and again (in the form of training for example), they get stronger, they are antifragile. Taleb explores this basic concept in various fields and from various perspectives. Asymmetric bets and all kinds of useful mental models get introduced while Taleb constantly fires shots at economists, academics, intellectuals and journalists - very fun.
