What I'm doing now

Finishing my Bachelor's in Computer Science

Having stepped back from part-time work, I am now fully focused on completing my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I am on track to graduate in the summer of 2025.

Studying

January is exams-month.

Grappling

I took up grappling in 2022 at the Joker Jiu-Jitsu Club Bern, and it has quickly become a major part of my life outside academics. It's not only fun but also a great physical and mental challenge.

What I’m reading now

  • Extreme Alpinism by Mark Twight
I am no climber. This book is intended for climbers. I am nevertheless excited to read this book by one of the mountaineering legends Mark Twight. Why? First of all a big part of the book covers general topics like ‘Attitude and Character’, ‘Psychological and Physical Training’, ‘Nutrition’ and ‘Equipment’. These subjects are easily applicable to all kinds of high-stakes outdoor activity.

I like Mark Twights philosophy in these matters. He is very methodical and embraces stuff like standard operating procedures. No wonder he got to develop the first protective combat uniform for the american military.
  • The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

Upcoming: Senegal

I am excited about visiting a friend who lives in Senegal in February. I have never been to africa and am looking forward to meet a new culture and witness the incredible nature of Senegal. We will spend some time in the capital - Dakar - and then head south along the coast.

Upcoming: New Job

In August I will be starting an internship at the high-security biolab in Mittelhäusern. I will be part of the small IT-department there and hopefully learn a ton of new and diverse skills.
